Christmas in Kernersville 2026: Hometown Christmas, the Parade and Körner's Folly
If you've never spent a December Saturday in downtown Kernersville, this is the year. The town east of Winston-Salem packs its biggest holiday events into one weekend, and a Victorian house turns into one of the most decorated spots in the Triad. Here's what's on for 2026, with dates from the organizers' own pages.
Kernersville's Hometown Christmas: Saturday, December 5
The Kernersville Chamber of Commerce's Hometown Christmas (it used to be called Blooms to Bells) runs Saturday, December 5, 2026, from 4 to 8 PM in downtown Kernersville, and it's free.
The easiest way to do it is the free trolley. It loops through downtown, about 18 minutes per round trip, and you can hop on and off at each stop:
- John & Bobbie Wolfe Visitors Center for goodies and a bit of Kernersville history (you can buy Körner's Folly tour tickets here)
- Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden to see the lighted holiday blooms, free on December 5
- Kernersville Museum for tours, vendors and food trucks
- Kernersville Chamber of Commerce on Mountain Street, to see the Town's lighted Christmas tree
- Founders Park at North Main for the Live Nativity and Santa's Workshop
The chamber's lineup also lists carolers, a Christmas tree lighting, shopping and vendors, author Nancy Naigle, and gift wrapping by Leadership Kernersville. Kettle corn, cookies and hot chocolate are for sale.
The Kernersville Christmas Parade: Sunday, December 6
The next afternoon, Sunday, December 6, 2026, from 2:30 to 4:30 PM, is the Kernersville Christmas Parade. The chamber calls it the area's largest Christmas parade, with over two thousand participants: marching bands, fire trucks, dance groups, antique cars, decorated floats and Santa.
The route starts at Pineview Drive and Highway 66, runs along East Mountain Street to West Mountain Street, and finishes at Kernersville Elementary School. Downtown fills up, so get there early and plan to walk a few blocks.
Victorian Christmas at Körner's Folly: November 24 to January 2
Körner's Folly, the famously unusual Victorian house on South Main Street, decorates all 22 rooms for the season. This year's theme is Bejeweled Christmas, inspired by the emeralds, rubies, pearls and sparkle of the Victorian era, with garlands, wreaths and trees done by local volunteer decorators.
- When: Tuesday, November 24, 2026 through Saturday, January 2, 2027
- Self-guided tours: Tuesday to Thursday 10 AM to 4 PM, Friday and Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM, Sunday noon to 5 PM, with last entry at 4 PM. Plan on about an hour.
- Extras: ask about the Christmas scavenger hunt, and vote in the Best Decorated Room contest.
Tickets are on the Körner's Folly website or at the Visitors Center.
Christmas by Candlelight: December 5 and 19
For an evening version, Körner's Folly hosts Christmas by Candlelight on December 5 and December 19, 5:30 to 9:30 PM (last entry 9 PM). Luminaries light the grounds, actors from Kernersville Little Theater sing period carols in Victorian dress, and there's a reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas in Cupid's Park, followed by Moravian cookies and hot cider in the Visitors Center. Advance tickets are recommended; the organizers say it typically sells out.
Holiday Blooms at Ciener Botanical Garden
The Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden's Spectacular Holiday Blooms are made from recycled plastic bottles turned into more than 10,000 glowing "flowers," built over thousands of volunteer hours. The garden's page lists the lights starting December 5, from 5 to 9 PM on Friday and Saturday evenings through December 26. Check the garden's page before you go in case nights change.
